Rain and TGIF and stupid people...
It's raining, has been for a little while. I love sleeping when it rains that nice steady rain. Didn't want to get up, didn't want David to get up and go to work (DANG alarm clock). *sighs* But he had to... It was sooo nice cuddled up in bed listening to the rain with him.
At least it's Friday and he has two days to be home.
We didn't watch the debate so until I read a transcript I'll not comment.....
We watched John Wayne movies on TCM. Well actually it was late when David got home and we had to run to the store then ran by hobby lobby to get my secret pal some yarn (I DIDN'T BUY ANY FOR MYSELF)and grab some takeout- It was after 7 when we got home.
I hate people.... Especially stupid people. Twice we almost got wiped out in parking lots because some one while starting to pull out was only looking in one direction. Inside WalMart I get run into I don't know how many freaking times by employees who weren't watching where they were going. (AM I FREAKIN INVISIBLE???)
Shopping- which used to be a fun thing- was such a big pain, people just don't care about other people anymore.... We make it through to produce (good we're almost done) - go to get avocados and there's a "herd" of mexican women there in front of that area grabbing tons of peppers and tomatoes etc... Now one looks up and see David standing there, waiting to get to what we want, and goes about grabbing up tomatoes and talking and laughing (speaking spanish no less- another pet peeve of mine- if you live in America speak American). She kept glancing up and then talking and laughing like they all thought it was funny that we were waiting - (That's what happens when you don't speak English around others... they don't know if you are talking about them or what)... So as a result, David who was already tired and in a bad mood from all the shit we've already had to experience on this outting just gets madder and madder (we wait for a good 7 mins)... so finally they put bags of whatever they have gotten into their buggy leaving alittle room for David to squeeze through to grab some avocados and while he does that they look at him like he has done gone and killed the pope.
Then going home.... People are in such a hurry to get to where they want to go they don't care how many cars they wipe out to get there.
PEOPLE are just way to rude anymore... I don't care where you - common decency is disappearing in the world and it's a dang shame.

Kari, sorry about all that. I agree that people today are just RUDE, and also don't pay attention to the world around them most of the time.
Also, like you, I HATE IT when people who live here, work here, and enjoy all the "benefits" that America offers them FREELY, do not even have the common courtesy to SPEAK OUR LANGUAGE. What's worse, it seems more and more that the language in Texas is fast moving to SPANISH as the most widely spoken. I have no problem with pride in where you come from, I'm German/Irish and PROUD, but you don't see me speaking (and getting mad when others don't) German or Gaelic (look it up) do you, know. It doesn't matter that I was born here, there are a lot of people who are 3rd or later generation latino citizens (I know, YOU'RE AMERICAN, not "latino-american") who are taught by their family to only speak spanish, but hey, whatcha gonna do, right?
I have no problem with having pride in one's heritage- but it so bothers me to see all the non-english speaking people going around this day and age... and makes it impossible to conduct business with someone when they cannot speak proper English.
I'm glad I'm not alone in feeling this way... every once in awhile I think "OMG I have turned into my grandfather".
msut of been the MOON!! i swear its been the past two days stupid ppl every where !!
I just can't stand Walmart people! I love that the store has everything mind you, but once you get to the line in the Walmart near me your there for about 1/2 hour or so. The price checks drive me insane, and the screaming kids out at 10pm!!! Give me a break already! I hear you totally on the speach thing too Kari. They should atleast realize that laughing when people can't understand them is a sure sign that they are being ignorant, and rude! Times are changing for the worse!
...I guess we should all be speaking Native American and of course that depends on what tribe we are from.... a simple smile and 'Excuse me' would have been fine to get where you need to get...I'm from San Diego I know how it can be-
Actually it's not the spanish or Latino that is the problem (if that socio-economic population (not 'herd') was taken away us lily white people would feel it no doubt)....people either get it or don't. Wonder if Bush would apprieciate all those comments? (being that they have Mexican in the family!) I think it's a crying shame when people lose their language because its taught that it is ugly to speak it around other people! really doubt they were talking about you..people have better things to do...probably talking about what they will be doing around dinner or how thankful they are they are 'buying' the fruit and perhaps not 'picking' the fruit!! One can only wonder!
I will say I'm sorry to you- I know it's your blog and I've probably stepped over the line being that was your true feeling and in your blog it's a personal issue. My husband (whose black...yikes! I'm sure that just tears some people apart to seeing that too! Drats...they were made to be taught English too!) anyway he will continue fighting for his country so everyone CAN have their opinions (I fought for my country too for some time also) It's what makes the world go around :) no hard feelings....
Opps..must of touched a nerve....such language...I can see you guys know the English language really well. Like I said, no hard feelings from this end and meant it. Believe me, this doesn't make me feel good one bit, makes me very sad and actually feel sorry for how this bothers you so. It's cyrystal clear what the problem is with many of white america. Just for the record I have NEVER responded to anything online like this NEVER!.................because I've never read anything like this!?!....and your reaction proves a lot.
Kari/David, I'll just say, and trust me here, I would stake anything you want to that there are more people who would readily agree with you "out here" than not, they just may not have a PC, may not read blogs, or just may not comment. Have a good week.
