Experts Predict Mount St. Helens Eruption

Yahoo! News - Experts Predict Mount St. Helens Eruption Excerpt:
SEATTLE - The flurry of earthquakes at Mount St. Helens intensified further Thursday, and one scientist put the chance of a small eruption happening in the next few days at 70 percent. Jeff Wynn, chief scientist at the U.S. Geologic Survey's Cascade Volcano Observatory in Vancouver, Wash., said tiny quakes were happening three or four times a minute. Larger quakes, with magnitudes of 3 to 3.3, were happening every three or four minutes, he said. New measurements show the 975-foot lava dome in the volcano's crater has moved 2 1/2 inches to the north since Monday, Wynn said. "Imagine taking a 1,000-foot-high pile of rocks and moving it 2 1/2 inches. For a geologist, that's a lot of energy," Wynn said. Wynn estimated there was a 70 percent chance the activity will result in an eruption. Scientists did not expect anything like the mountain's devastating eruption in 1980, which killed 57 people and coated towns 250 miles away with ash. On Wednesday, they warned that a small or moderate blast from the southwest Washington mountain could spew ash and rock as far as three miles from the 8,364-foot peak....

Merck Withdraws Arthritis Drug Vioxx

Yahoo! News - Merck Withdraws Arthritis Drug Vioxx OMG Now's a good time to figure that one out after millions of people have taken it for years. Thankfully I didn't take it for very long but I know people who have.

Now for a real post

Enough politics. I have several WIP's (Works in progress for you non-crafters), I need to get a couple of those out of the way and start working on Christmas presents in a very serious way. Christmas is sneaking up on me.... I have some ideas going on for the boys and the girls will probably get scarves and hats, maybe some scrunchis. Might be able to throw in an afghan or shawl hopefully. I just hope my hand will hold out. While packing for this move I (while fighting a box) inadvertently hit the wall - not to hard- with my hand just really a tap, but it caught the corner in between the knuckle of my first and second finger on my right hand. It swelled up and hurt like hell pretty much the rest of the move and still does on occasion. Day before yesterday however, it got to hurting more in the middle of my hand, and hurting bad enough I had to put one of those splint thingys on it. Now it has spells where it's ok and others where I can't hardly stand it. But, the past couple days I have been on the computer more than usual working on this thing so that probably has something to do with it. So hopefully... I will be able to get by crocheting with less computer work over the next few weeks and be ok handwise. So if I don't blog for a day or two don't freak out on me and think somethings wrong I'm just working on Christmas presents, also need to work up a couple things to sell as well. And you can always read Shadydowns Soapbox- David's Blog too.

Thanks John Kerry- Ya big ole DOOFUS!

NOW I will have that infernal "Oompa Loompa Song" in my head all day dammit! Bad thing is, no one will care the man is a flip-flopping dunderhead, and will do things like raise taxes, cut military spending, ban more guns, kiss the UN's Collective ASS! Not to mention abortion, religion, the phrase "under God" in the pledge.. I could go on and on . I won't even mention how he turned his back on his country and protested the very war he served in and how he subsequently hurt every single person who served in the Vietnam war by contributing to the hate towards our soldiers during that time of civil idiocy.

Warning Levels Raised at Mount St. Helens

Yahoo! News - Warning Levels Raised at Mount St. Helens "MOUNT ST. HELENS, Wash. - Mount St. Helens began rumbling more intensely Wednesday, prompting scientists to raise the eruption warning level and suggest a blast could cover an area 3 miles around the volcano's crater. Earthquakes (news - web sites) ranging from magnitude 2 to 2.5 were coming about four times a minute, possibly weakening the lava dome in the crater of the 8,364-foot mountain, the U.S. Geological Survey (news - web sites) said. Well I redid the colors - As if you hadn't noticed... I was looking for a more fall type color scheme. As much as I love purple; I can get tired of it after awhile. Not much to say... hand is hurting like hell.

Yahoo! News - Strong Earthquake Strikes Central Calif.

Yahoo! News - Strong Earthquake Strikes Central Calif. "PARKFIELD, Calif. - A strong earthquake struck Central California on Tuesday, and it was felt from San Francisco to the Los Angeles area, according to the U.S. Geological Survey . There was no immediate report of injuries. The quake, which struck at 10:15 a.m. PDT, had a preliminary magnitude of 5.9 and was centered 9 miles south of Parkfield. The area is 17 miles northeast of Paso Robles, scene of an earthquake that killed two people in December 2003. An aftershock of 5.0 magnitude struck four minutes later. Paso Robles police said there were no immediate reports of damage or injuries. "It rattled everything hanging on the walls and the chandelier was swinging. It didn't do any damage to our house. There were two shakers, one right after the other," said Ben Brown, who lives in Paso Robles. The quake was felt along a 350-mile stretch, as far north as San Francisco and as far south as Santa Ana, southeast of Los Angeles, the geological survey said. Parkfield, located on the San Andreas fault, is known as the earthquake capital of California. A magnitude 5 quake can cause considerable damage and a magnitude 6 quake severe damage, though problems are generally far less severe in remote areas and areas with strong building codes. "

WORK ZONE

Put up a temp fix so that Sweet Dear Hubby O' Mine can see my posts from work. For some reason the right side was over the middle. So some things are missing and I will get everything updated soon. I'm working in frontpage on it now, just wanted to fix it where posts could be read. I love you sweetie. OH and alot of things form the right side are now/and will be located at the bottom of page.

Front Yard Wildlife

NOTE: These pictures were taken through the glass on our front door. The squirrel just "happened" to come by and strike a pose for the camera so it was an added bonus.

Babes For Bush | CafePress

While out and about this morning with my coffee in Blogdom I came across this: Babes For Bush | CafePress No onto other things: CROCHET? Yeah I still do that too, I have not had much chance lately but I have another row done on my shirt creation. Made some scrunchis for David's production managers daughter- forgot to take pics before sending them along. Have practiced more on knitting as well. Will try to get issues here resolved today. If the boy gives me some time to do it. Since Photobucket.com is up and at'em again I'll post some pics of the local wildlife in our front yard later. Although I'd rather be back in bed with David all cuddled up again.

GRRRrr

OK, I am thinking that it's a screen resolution thing. Because some people ahve no trouble and others do and they have the same browser etc... And I reallize that on Mozilla it's messed up. I will work on it tomorrow or later if I get a chance. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Updates

Did some redecorating on this thing. IF it doesn't show up right let me know and I'll work on it tomorrow. Oh, and it won't do any good to let me know that my pics aren't all showing up. I know. Photobucket.com is working on getting things back up and running.

Yet another Monday

Is it me or is time just flying by? Already September is coming to an end... I raked leaves yesterday. I will miss Fall in the Ozarks. It seems Photobucket.com is having some more problems ... I "heard" it was another D.O.S. (denial of service) attack. Don't know if it is true or not. I know they have had ALOT of trouble lately. People are talking about jumping ship. I'll hang onto my life perserver for a bit before I decide.

Our President

You know. I got up this mornin' all down cua it was Monday, David is on his way to work. I'm sitting here with cup of coffee in hand just starting to go check my reg. blog reads as I normally do. First place I go is : RIGHT WING NUT JOBS UNITE! . He points to this: There's just something about "W". So I click and start reading. I urge everyone else to read it as well. It's very interesting and is a very excellent an example as to why I say: " Everytime I hear him give a speech or public appearence I grow more respect for the man who is our president." As mentioned at the end of the article: No, you wouldn't see or hear of Kerry dong that, unless there were cameras around.

People of the DFW Area

Would it kill you to smile? Seriously, look around while shopping in that area and you'll notice that no one smiles. In fact most look downright unhappy. Why? Is life sooo bad that you can't even enjoy one minute?

LOL Or anyone else I have the address for. Just thought it was cool.

Soldier Attacked at a Toby Keith Concert

Full Story- nbc4i.com From article: "... "I don't remember getting hit at all, really," said Barton, a member of the 1st Calvary Division. "He hit me in the back of the head. I fell and hit the ground. I was knocked unconscious and he continued to punch and kick me on the ground." Barton and his family said he was beat up because he was wearing an Iraqi freedom T-shirt. "It's not our fault," Barton said. "I'm just doing a job." According to a Columbus police report, six witnesses who didn't know Barton said the person who beat him up was screaming profanities and making crude remarks about U.S. soldiers, Burton reported. " A great post on it: In the Bullpen. My Take: When you attack a soldier of our country because he is a soldier; and you are an American you should be charged with treason AND terrorism. I say that because I know that noone would let me go out and do the redneck stomp on his ass. I do not care if you agree with this war in Iraq or not. This kid is a soldier of THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!!!!! He would fight and possibly die to save your ass in a heartbeat and not even know who you were and yet you have the nerve to attack him because you don't agree in the politics surrounding what he was doing?????? What the hell kinda drugs are you taking????? Better yet, What kind of American are you??? You are no better than those who spat on our soldiers when they came home from Vietnam afraid to wear their uniforms for fear of being attacked. America is all about being free to believe what you want. Being free to express said beliefs. IT DOES NOT make you free to beat the crap outta someone you don't agree with(trust me on that when I say sometimes I wish it did). FREEDOM doesn't mean freedom from responsibility for your actions. And least you forget your freedom came at a high price. Maybe one of your grandparents, parents, aunts, or uncles, or cousins paid that price as well as many more... You disgrace their memories when you behave this way. You cheapen their lives and what they did for their/our country. In closing I'll say this: You better Thank God that you did not do something like that to my step-son when he came back form Iraq.

Temp Button for S.S.

Rough draft of a button. When I get more time I'll work on it more.

Some days you know its gonna suck being alive before you even get out of bed... Today? Yeah it's gonna be one of those days. No one got any sleep. BAd bad anxiety morning already. cBS

CBS Appoints 2-Man Panel to Investigate Guard Report From the article: "CBS announced yesterday that Dick Thornburgh, a former attorney general, and Louis D. Boccardi, a former top executive of The Associated Press, would investigate the journalistic breakdowns that led to the broadcast of a flawed "60 Minutes" report about President Bush's National Guard service. While the network characterized the two men as constituting an independent panel, Mr. Thornburgh's appointment upset Dan Rather, the anchor who broadcast the report and initially vouched for documents at its heart, according to four colleagues and associates. Mr. Rather considers Mr. Thornburgh a confounding choice in part because he served two Republican presidents, Mr. Bush's father, and Richard M. Nixon, with whom Mr. Rather publicly clashed, the colleagues and associates said. " Sooo cBS appoints these guys to find out what went wrong... Can we get a big duh here? DUHHH What went wrong depends on how you look at it. From Dan Blabbers POV he got caught, that's what went wrong. From cBS's POV mainly the fact they have been exposed as the lying news making up biased loving media hos they are probably didn't sit well with them. All in all can we say: KARMA. I looooove how they insisted on calling it a "flawed" report. By all means don't candycoat it for us cBS- we can take it. Flawed? How 'bout forged, faked, fabricated, falsified, fiction, falsity; need I go on?

D's Visor Sunglass Holder

He used it yesterday: Two problems: One: I need to make a flap to close it as he uses those big sunglasses and it stretches the opening so when he puts his glasses in it they come out. hehe DUH on my part for not thinking of that. Two: I had said something about lining it but he said no, well he wants me to line it now because one pair gets pokey so I have it today and will flap velcro and line Then work up a pattern. I'm going to make one for my side and make it out of thread maybe. I'm designing a shirt for my red heart plush yarn in red he bought for me. I can't find a shirt I like (or rather short sleeve sweater whichever you want to call it.) I'm still in the figuring out stage. LOTS O' Froggin' Goin' On! Sean was up at 12:30 AM and I don't think he ever did go back to sleep, I was constantly putting him back in bed. And David is coming down with our cold so he's not feeling good didn't get any sleep. Poor Baby :(

David's Bday Presents

It's a glasses/sunglasses holder for his visor to allow for switching one handed. and That's a chenille scarf. Probably not good for Texas weather but I started it in Missouri finished it here and he said it was great(He's such a sweetie).

Steak, Texas, and colds

LOL Hellofa combination of topics. We went to Saltgrass (steakhouse) in Lewisville for david's birthday present form me (part of). That was our second time going to a Saltgrass (first one in Grapevine and was where we were taken to be woo'ed into D taking the job- it worked lol). THE best steak I have EVER had. I came to the conclusion, that place is steak heaven. The beef they use must have been babied to the point the ranchers carry them to their food and back and hell probably even spoon feed them!!!! And it they brought out this huge piece of cheesecake with a candle on it for David cuz it was his bday dinner! That is probably the only thing I would miss about texas if we moved today. Which brings us to the next topic... Texas... Maybe it's because we're "outsiders" but this place seems soooo unfriendly. Rude, unpolite- people seem like they are unwilling to make eye contact in passing. We've ran into VERY few people who were actually halfway decent and polite or nice even. And it's really sad, I have really tried to like this place. But I continue to be disappointed with it and frankly have just come to the decision that I'll not consider myself a resident of Texas, we'll just be here 5 years and go back home when David retires. Back home to Missouri. The few people we have came across that were actually nice give me hope that maybe it'll get better but who knows. Onto the last topic... colds... Sean has one, poor little guy. Past two nights he's been up every 30 mins. He miserable I know but still he smiles. David and I are half sick but hopefully it'll pass soon. -- I will add that the people that I have talked to online who were form Texas are very nice... I really figured that's the way all Texans were. Enough whining and rambling.

Happy Birthday David

You are my everything. There are not enough words to describe what you mean to me. I would be nothing without your love. I love you with every fiber of my being. I am so lucky that I have you. You truly are the love of my life, and I have never been happier. I love you. Happy Birthday.

Weekend Food for Thought

From We Hold These Truths: The True Spirit Of Gettysburg's Soldiers "It is easy to demean the dead when the living will not defend their heritage. Mr Sims, Gettysburg College and powerful people know this. They can get away with it now, but history is not so "correct."" I urge you to read this. Have a good Weekend.

RIGHT WING NUT JOBS UNITE!: THIS IS DESPICABLE!

RIGHT WING NUT JOBS UNITE!: THIS IS DESPICABLE! Totally disgusting, horrible commentary on humanity wether true or not!!!!!!!!!!!! I would hate to think that it was staged by EITHER side- but would hate worse to know it was an actual event!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sickening. Now I know, people have said that the father shouldn't have taken his child but comeon... Thats the same as ppl telling me my child should not have been watching the super bowl (with us) when janet jackson had her little strip show at halftime. People have to show some amount of restraint and common freaking decency in public and treat people no matter how much they want to rip their heads off with alittle respect. Once again I say: SICKENING!!!!!!!! I have to go find my TUMS.

Very interesting site. Some funny cartoons.

TGIF!!!!!!!!!!

WOOHOO! It's finally Friday. WOW Didn't think that would ever happen (Friday lol) Worried 'bout those kids out in Virgina, here they haven't even dried out yet and are getting MORE rain, last night the local weatherman was saying how he thought ivan was gonna stall out in that area while Jeanne hits South Carolina. That could be devastating. Our Thoughts and prayers are with everyone in those areas. I'm beginning to think that P&J picked the wrong time to move back there. David's Birthday is Monday. hehe We went to Bed, Bath and Beyond yesterday. Got some kitchen gadgets. They have a windchime there I would love to have it's huge and beautiful but $69.99 so there's no way. d said maybe christmas but I wouldn't feel right. That kind of money for something like that no matter how beautiful -it's just not right. Now if it goes on sale..... and they knock 20 off then I'd jump on it lol. While we were at the Local WM we cruised through the yarn section (half was gone- they were redoing the shelves) turned to leave and saw over on the side was three 6oz skiens of Red Heart Plush in Red marked down from $4.75 per to $1.75 D said he really liked it and it would make a pretty top so he picked it up and said "Can't pass that up it's only $1.75 a piece) He's so cute. So I gotta look through my patterns and see what I can come up with. OH, I forgot we did get a candle at BB&B, it's one of those big ones, the type the embed flowers in? Well this one is light purple (hehe) and in the sides are DOGWOOD blossoms!! How cool is that? So we had to get it lol. Beautiful, and smells pretty too. OK well... thats about enough for now and I need to refill my coffee cup.

CBS puts up its guard

CBS puts up its guard Man I just gotta say: I love my Country, I love my President, I sure as hell hate the Liberal Media. Kudos to those in the BlogSphere who didn't give up on busting this wide open!

Barcepundit in English

Barcepundit in English Here is an english written blog translating an email ad that has disturbed me since I came across it in Blogdom a bit ago. Leave it to Spain... Thats all I can say.

Grab a cup of coffee and sit a spell

Thoughts and prayers are with LilacRose, Robin Jones- Beyond Salvage and everyone else weathering through Ivan. Have you ever noticed how sometimes a cup of coffee tastes better than usual? I mean you take your first sip and it's like THE best thing you have ever tasted? For no reason? It's not special coffee... OH!!!! Speakiong of special coffee... Churchill Coffee (you can get in some stores- you know the grind yourself type display) has a flavor called Sinless Pastry You can find it HERE. It's so totally excellent. I have got to get some more. That's our "weekend" coffee. You should give it a go. There is something about 2 am and this family. If it isn't one it's another. But 2 am seems to be the time someone is up. If its not the boy it's hambut or both. Last night it was the boy. Took almost two hours getting him back to sleep. Don't know why he woke up (after all it was after 9 when he went to sleep) he just did. So once again we're a family lacking sleep. lol I finished hat and scarf from my wonderful Jiffy T&Q I'll try to take pics later. I'm really pleased with how they turned out and love love love that yarn! (Again thanks SP!!!)

omg omg omg

Opened up a box and out crawls a brown recluse *shudders* of course its dead now but I'm still creeped out. Recently seen bumper stickers: "Sorry I missed church. I was busy practising witchcraft and becoming a lesbian." "I found Jesus, He was hiding behind the sofa." "First Iraq Then France"

3 Gmail invites left

I currently have 3 Gmail invites left. I'm working on a hat with the wonderful yarn my (Crochetville)Secret Pal sent me. It's so beautiful and soft. The future president of the United States is sitting in the floor eating a "pe-bowbow" sandwich (thats peanut butter for you english speaking readers), watching Bear in the Big Blue House. Actaully he's mad because it went off. We're still working on understanding the TV isn't on demand like the vcr or dvd player. We had a couple storms roll through yesterday/last night. Was sooo nice going to sleep listening to thunder and rain.

Gmail invites

I have a ton so if anyone wants and invitation to gmail just email me at kariholtz{at}gmail{dot}com or comment here and I'll hook ya up. I totally love gmail.

Tuesday

Why can't it be Friday already? I started a scarf with my Jiffy T&Q although I went to get my Q hook only to find I can't find it. GRRRRRRRRRRR I hate moving! Couple other of my hooks have dissapeared and it really sucks. Next biggest I have is N. My thoughts are with those in the path of Ivan. Tough year for hurricanes- or rather the people in their paths. Talked to Rae yesterday, she's doing pretty good, sounds great. Talking about going home (at least to her inlaws since she'll need help for a couple monthes) in a few days. Nothing much else going on. Oh, searching for a resonable lawn service when your yard is an over an acre is a chore! Everyone wants to charge out the butt.

My Secret Pal ROCKS!!!!

I got a package woohoo!!! 2 balls of Jiffy Thick and Quick in the color I die for! Ozarks color! BEAUTIFUL! So thick and beautiful I wish I was back in Missouri. And a measuring tape and journal. Thanks Alot Secret Pal! Now what to make.....

Just had to add

Yesterday while watching football I picked up my knitting needles and learn to knit book and kept fiddling with it until I got the hang of it! WOOHOO!!!!! I'm knitting! Mind you it's not pretty lol but at least I'm doing it good enough to practice. Goth Mama
You're a witchy woman! Chances are that you see
Morticia Addams as a role model, and your
wardrobe sports a fair amount of black. The
other mothers at school pick up may look
askance, but your kids already know that the
judgement of others isn't what counts.

What kind of a freaky mother are you?

*YAWNS*

Busy Weekend, Racing, football, shopping, etc.. Decided there is something in the water that makes ppl in Texas not smile. Didnt get much sleep last night, between the boy and the cat is a conspiricy to keep us awake. Mark Martin made it to the "chase for the championship" Which I think is the stupidest thing ever. The old way was much better, they fix things in NASCAR like the BCS fixes things in college football.

NEWS!

I finally got ahold of someone (bless you Perlie) and Rachel is doing ok (considering what she's been through) The surgery went good and they are waiting on a room now. So I will call tonight to check in on her and talk to her(if she feels up to it). I am sooo relieved, I knew in my heart she was ok but not knowing for certain was killing me. I got off the phone and cried. Am still crying. Just pent up emotion I guess. Thank you everyone for the prayers and well wishes.

Da Goddess: Scene From An Airport

Rarely do I use the Blog This! aspect on IE but I had to drag it out this mornin' Such a touching picture and moving response to it I just had to mention it here. Da Goddess: Scene From An Airport In the picture I see America. I see a young man clinging to his child, knowing he will be missing major moments in his/her life, praying he doesn't miss to many. He is not thinking about who did a better job in the military: George Bush or John Kerry or whose policy would lower the budget, he is thinking of his job. Of battle and worry of sand in meals and everywhere of heat and of hate and of sadness from leaving his family. I see a wife as she stands and looks on bravely; not wanting to shed tears knowing she will soon. She thinks of the days, weeks, monthes to come of worrisome nights of no contact scanning websites and news shows for glimpse or of word. She htinks of tiresome days of trying to explain to a child to small to understand why Daddy has gone again to war. She thinks with bitterness at times but always with love. They are America, those three nameless souls from a snapshot off a blog that I by chance happened across this mornin while caught up in my own self pity at how bad things were for me. They are America making the ultimate sacrfice for their Country. This scene plays on in thousands of towns/cities in airports and bus stations and shipyards all over this wonderful country. These people ripping their lives apart knowing they may not come back- all in service of their country; our country. As we come so close to the anniversary (in lacking another word for it ) of the terror attacks of Sept 11, 2001 this picture could be a standing tribute of American Bravery. When your loved one(s) come home tonight instead of talking about the car needing fixed or how the kids misbehaved or the electric bill was to high; take them in your arms and hug. Hug for all those who cannot hug their families tonight; for those who will never get to hug their families again. And as you are holding your family thank whatever God you believe in that there are people brave enough to risk their lives to protect you and your families.

No Word

Nothing I called so many time yesterday ppl were starting to get pissy with me but I couldn't catch any of her family in that damn waiting room. So I still know nothing. Will try again today but later, maybe they will move her out of ICU today. Ivan scares me, IF it goes the way the forecast maps say then it's going to head back up the East Coast and P&J have already got tons of rain from Frances. But I was reading where some forecasters are certain that it'll track NW towards the Central and Western Gulf Coasts. At any rate they are callnig it the 7th strongest hurricane EVER. From Weatherbug-"This pressure reading makes Ivan the seventh strongest hurricane ever recorded in the Atlantic. Only Gilbert in 1988, the 1935 Florida Keys hurricane, Allen in 1980, Camille in 1969, Mitch in 1998, and Isabel in 2003 have attained lower pressure readings." On the homefront, we have a air pollution watch level of ORANGE today.

Hopeless Frustration

I feel like I am banging my head against the wall. I called last night at around 7 to find out about Rachel: I got "she's in surgery now". This morning she's in ICU, well they won't do anything there without the "password" which I have no clue because no one has called me to tell me anything! So I ask if there is any family members there she tranfers me somewhere that subsiquently transfers me back to patient information where I started out. Who trys to transfer me back to ICU which wouldn't help cuz I don't have the password. grrrrrrrr! Oh and I forgot the trash pickup here is mondays and THURSDAYS so I missed it today.

FUN FACTS ABOUT DEMOCRATS

FUN FACTS ABOUT DEMOCRATS Found at Dagoddess * Democrats chose the donkey as their symbol because the Democrat base smells as bad as one and has the same verbal skills. In the donkey's defense, it's smart enough to understand a butterfly ballot. * The name Democrat comes from the combination of "demo" - which means "demonic" - and "crat" - which is a term for something unidentifiable which you scrape off your shoe. * If your skin pigmentation is dark enough, you may be legally required to vote for Democrats. * Democrats are big into class warfare. They also are for gun control which has caused the deadliest firearms to be too expensive except for the rich to buy. So, if class warfare ever goes to blows, it won't last long. * No matter what legislation the Republicans propose, the Democrats call it "just a tax cut for the rich." When Republicans proposed to free the slaves, Democrats called it "just a tax cut for the rich." * The base of the Democratic part is thought to be angry, drunken dwarves, but they may in fact be gnomes. * Plus some are pixies or something similar. * Though there are more registered Democrats, they don't vote as much as Republicans percentage-wise because of their tendency to be distracted by shiny things. * Democrats have lost most of the men's vote because they're a bunch of girlie men. Don't tell them that, though, because they'll cry. * Democrats are always trying to get into your wallet to spend money on their wacky ideas. If you see a Democrat near your wallet, hit him on the head with a rolled up newspaper. You have to catch him in the act or he'll never learn. * To do better in elections, many Democrats are trying to allow felons to vote. Next on their agenda: Allowing foreign terrorists to vote. * Trial lawyers can and do vote for Democrats... probably for the same reason convicted felons and terrorists would. * While the Democratic leadership is currently devoid of any real leadership or substance, they may try and make up for that with important-looking hair. * Some Democrats may have served in Vietnam. You can find out which ones by seeing who tells you that fact over and over and over. * And over and over and over. * Many Democrats intensely hate Bush because it's easier than confronting the irrelevancy of their ideas. It's funny to dump a bucket of cold water on them and hear them blame Haliburton. * If you're plagued by Democrats, they can be scared away with snakes, guns, or concepts of individual responsibility. * Bill Clinton, who cost the Democrats their majorities in the House, Senate, and Governorships while he was president, is still venerated by Democrats because... uh... I guess they're just frick'n retards. * Democrats will often visit maternity wards and shake their fists angrily at all those who escaped the wrath of choice. * Democrats are secretly trying to destroy capitalism. If you see a Democrat near capitalism and looking suspicious, immediately report him to the police. * You can't set fire to Democrats without a permit. * In a fight between Democrats and Aquaman, Aquaman would be slurred by an NAACP ad that links him to lynching. * Every so often Democrats will roam the countryside eating everything in sight before plunging into the sea. That might be called "Earth Day." * The Democrats have built a giant statue in tribute to Michael Moore which eyes glow red, shoots fire out of its ass, and constantly demands tributes of ham. * Or maybe that is Michael Moore wearing a gray sweat suit. Whatever it is, don't let it fall on you because it's heavy. * Democrats are convinced Bush lied about something. They're not sure what... but they know it's something! Come on; Clinton lied all the time... Bush must have lied at least once! * The foreign policy ideals of the Democrats involve waiting for the mighty France to approve anything they plan on doing. This should allow them to snap into action about the time half the earth is destroyed by radical Islamists. * Every time someone votes for a Democrat, baby Jesus cries.

WTF is going on?

What in the hairy heck is going on around here?/????? I've posted twice this mornin and neither have shown up, I have refreshed several times.... EDIT: Not sure what's up, I cannot see entries on my main blog page but can see them on the edit page. So who knows.

Another Day

Well here's the poop: Rae had part of her tests ran yesterday, today they will run something down to look at her heart from that angle. She said that if she understood the DR right, it's now not a matter of IF surgery but WHEN. So obviously she's not too happy, but said she has resigned herself that right now she's just along for the ride. I so wish I could be there for her. If you have been paying attn to my amber laert up there you'll have seen Jami Hicks' amber alert. She's 12 and from Mesquite. Please click the link and just look at her and her step-father. I have lots of problems with this one, biggest one being that the family had found "love letters" form the step-father to her this past weekend and the police didn't do anything. She was gone 4 DAYS before they issued an amber alert. OK now even if it was consentual and she left of her own accord she is 12 freakin years old!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ppl freakin make me sick

It's 3:30pm

Still no word on Sis... debating on if I should go ahead and call... Am so worried.

My Day

Ugh... not much just losing my mind, no word on Sis yet but then that thing will take awhile. Ran out of clothes pins hanging out laundry so am having to dry clothes in shifts grrrr... I hate not having a dryer. Sean's having a nap (thats a good thing) I should be but have been alternating surfing with housework. David emailed me a couple times from work -thats great! I was dreading this week without word form him during the day I got so spoiled to him calling every day from work. Gmail rocks lol I like it. Google is just pretty cool all around. I hurt my hand again while hanging out clothes don't know how just that spot I hurt moving. :( Am I rambling again? hehe oops sorry. Maybe I'll make some new right wing buttons.... Or redo my blog's style... AGAIN lol

WOOHOO! Gmail

Thanks to Simon for the invite to gmail. I've been dying to try it out, now I get the chance.

brought to you by Quizilla Took that just cuz, found out I'm a glass of wine which is funny because thats all I drink if I drink at all.

Friday?

OMG It just dawned on me it's Friday! Plus that tomorrow is Sean's 2nd birthday!!!!!! We have to go get something for him TONIGHT! I HATE moving right before something big cuz you always forget. I plugged the phone in and it worked. Just no caller id or anything, don't know if anyone can call me either. But I called Rae yesterday, she's facing possible heart surgery. I so wish I could be there for her, but I told her I would call every chance I get. I didn't sleep well last night. It seemed so freakin hot (strange for me usually I'm the one freezing in 90 degree temps) since we can't use the waterbed here I cant get comfy on that bed. Traffic was loud and the sirens were going alot (how can you say a place is quiet when a fire station is JUST down the road?). Either the cat or the boy were tearing up the house in the middle of the night, could never catch either in the act, I think it was the cat. The boy was up at 5:25am. I'm not sure I like Texas... seems alot different lifewise- David called me every day from work before now he can't. Now when he comes home he is really tired, moreso than before. And he seems so distance from me. I don't think I like this new place at all. Maybe I'm just all stressed out from the move still. On the crochet front: I did finish a scrunchie I had been working on I'll take pics in a bit once it actually gets daylight and Sean stops hangin on me literly.

9/02/2004

What day is this anyway?

Is it bad I don't know what day of the week it is? Well we moved and yesterday was David's first day of work soooo it seems like it SHOULD be tuesday instead of Thursday. Sean was such a big help with this move. I cannot believe what a good little traveler he is. And yesterday he was helping me move empty boxes to the garage. I'm getting discouraged about unpacking, it seems like I'm not gettting anything done cuz there's still boxes all over. BUT the problem is we don't have the room we had. The house is bigger square foot wise but it's not set up the same. There are no closets. Armoires(sp?) is what we are using so alot of stuff is going to have to stay packed. I have to go through everythign and determine what we HAVE to have unpacked and repack what we can live without for a year or at least don't need right off like sweaters and coats. I am sooo disappointed in human nature after dealing with the guy who owns this place. What ever happened to "good faith" The ad said washer and dryer, I figured that meant both washer AND dryer, we give ours away. Only to find that there is only a washer here. He elaves and when we get the gas on Monday I go to give Sean a bath and there's no water coming out of the hot tap... why? Well "someone" had turned off the supply goig to the hot water tapo. Why? because it doesn't shut off all the way and the hot water runs all the time if you don't do that!!!! Now I realize that it's our own fault for renting something without haveing checked it out first but we were in kind of a bind and needed something asap. Don't get me wrong: some things about this place are wonderful (like the huge tree filled front and back yards!) and the fireplace, fridge, etc but it's NOT a place we will renew our lease at- so we're here a year, no more. No word on Rachel yet, I pray everything is ok with her.

9/01/2004

We're back

Got 'net and cable today. We got here Sunday have been unloading, unpacking and trying to get everything in order. Texas takes a bit of getting used to but the cool thing was our 2nd night here our neighbor brought us cookies and introduced himself. Thought that was great. Got on and read my eamil today to find that Rae is in the hospital, she had a blood clot removed in her leg and they are running tests on her heart. And me without a phone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Grrrrrrrrrr So needless to say, I am beside myself with worry. She and David are the only friends I have. Other than that and being horribly tired form the move it's ok here. The skeeters are the size of small barnyard animals though but that makes them easier to hit lol!
